Referees and volunteers are the lifeblood of our event, and we invite you to be part of our team, ensuring an incredible tournament experience for all participants and players. To be a part of the APC team, Volunteers are encourage to read the descriptions below and click on the link to register at the bottom of the page.
If you are looking to become a referee at the 2025 APC, please complete the expressions of interest form provided to you by the officials department.
Volunteer Roles
We have a wide variety of roles that we require assistance in. Please check all the boxes of all of the roles you would happily undertake at the APC. Further information and training will be provided to volunteers in each role once a volunteer roster is formulated.
Muscle and Brains Required. Bump-in for the APC will take place from Friday 26 September - Monday 29 September. Tasks will include; taping up courts, setting up fencing/marquees/tables/chairs, assembling nets, putting up signage, collating and making up competitors gift bags, setting up court baskets, printing out draws, setting up volunteer and referee rooms plus much more.
If you are able to help but there are certain tasks that you cannot do please let us know in the comment section in the registration form.
The first point of call. A bright and enthusiastic member to welcome and check in players and spectators. You will be required to relay on basic information and handle some ticket sales.
The Ever Smiling Ray of Sunshine. Issuing competitor bags to players on their first entry to the tournament as well as being the main go to for event information.
The number cruncher. Assisting the tournament director with printing off draws, enter results and generate finals.
We are looking for any experianced, wether you input data or in your sleep, or are keen to learn, all are welcome!
The in-between man/women. Assist the Tournament Director with general tasks ie taking out score sheets, finding players/officials/medics and other general runaround tasks. You must be happy to clock up the steps on your watch with this role.
The Multitasker. While enjoying the games in your designated area be of general assistance with replacing balls, tape, pens and returning scoresheets. Showing initiative and seeking the TD, Referee or Medic when required as well as prompting players to keep the games moving and maintaining a clean and tidy area.
The gift of the gab. The distribution of pre-sales and selling of our branded APC merchandise.
The Gate Keeper and Hostess with the "Mostest". A rotating role between gate entry checks and selling food and drinks to spectators within our show court arena.
Drinks are up. Working behind the APC Bar selling drinks to patrons. Volunteers must have an RSA to volunteer for this role.
Direction Extraordinaire. Help direct cars to appropriate parking spots around the APC.
General Handyman/woman. Walking the venue ensuring that it remains clean and tidy for participants. Checking Rubbish bins and topping hand soap and toiletry supplies.
Helping pack down nets/fencing/marquees/tables/chairs, puling up tape and taking down signage etc after an amazing event on the 7 October.
