Our strategic direction
The Pickleball Australia (PA) Strategic Plan 2023 - 2026 outlines our Vision, Mission and Strategic priorities under the four pillars of Lead, Promote, Grow and Guide.
PA recognises the need to annually review and adjust their strategic plan due to the rate of growth and devlopment occuring in pickleball in Australia, and internationally. A new strategic plan has been develpoed and is under review by key stakeholders and is set to be released in the new financial year.
Our priorities
Lead
1. Develop and maintain best practice and procedures to support growth and development
2. Ensure PAA Board, Associations and office bearers have access to and utlilise training opportunties.
3. Adoption and streamlining of services to facilitate a positive membership and participant experience.
4. Establish strong relationships with national and international governing bodies.
5. Establish a professional operation and reduce the operation status of the PAA Board.
Promote
1. Cultivate the pickleball profile with the general public and target audiences.
2. Establish pickleball as a recognised sport in Australia.
3. Create and cultivate a professional a professional corporate image.
4. Secure sponsorship to grow and sustain PAA, its members, affiliates, programs and events.
5. Apply succesful an innovative approaches to increase the media profile of pickleball, Pickleball Australia, its members and affiliates.
Grow
1. Grow and retain state, affiliate and individual membership by 25% annually to 2026.
2. Monitor membership demographics, needs and wants.
3. Idenitfy and introduce a growing range of member benefits and services, ensuring membership value.
4. Promote a sports wide volunteering culture to facilitate the growth of pickleball.
5. Build commercial relationships to support members and growth.
6. Idenitfy and support initiatives for development and access to facilities.
7. Research and understand the demographic and needs of pickleball stakeholders.
Guide
1. Formalise player entry and retention pathways for members.
2. Create a coach accreditation framework and education programs to faciliate sound training approaches embracing the SPIRIT values.
3. Support growth of the referee education program.
4. Drive inclusion as the norm for pickleball events and social play.
5. Develop player education programs for all ages and ability levels.
6. Provide consistent competition opportunities for all participants.
7. Establish elite national tournaments, leagues and international representative opportunities.
