As part of our series of club spotlights, Pickleball Australia reached out to the Adelaide Pickleball Club to learn more about their community in South Australia.

How did your club get started, and what makes it special in your community?

We started in 2021 when Andrew Reilly talked Netball SA into allowing us to tape trial courts at Mile End Stadium. We've worked hard since then to increase playing options for players with a focus on competitive play.

What does pickleball mean to your members, and how has your club made a positive impact locally?

Pickleball gives our club members an active way to create connections and play at a high level. Adelaide Pickleball Club developed the first competitive leagues in Adelaide and contributes many of the medal winners at state-level tournaments.

What’s been a standout moment or achievement for your club so far?

Our players have represented the club at every national championship since 2022, winning medals at every event. Talia Saunders and Joel Carr from our club winning the silver medal for SA in the states/territories teams event at the 2023 nationals was a major achievement.
