Pickleball Australia Charts Bold Strategic Future at Inaugural State Member Conference
Over the weekend of 7–9 February 2025, representatives from Pickleball Australia (PA) and all State Member Associations gathered in the nation’s capital for the inaugural Pickleball Australia State Member Strategy Conference. This landmark event set the stage for shaping the future of one of Australia's fastest-growing sports, as leaders came together to reflect on the incredible momentum and growth of the sport and refine strategic goals and priorities for 2025 and beyond.
Facilitated by sport and major events industry advisor, and PA Board Director Amy Hill, the conference was hailed as a pivotal milestone for the organisation. “The growth of our sport over the past five years has been exponential, and Pickleball Australia has been there from the very beginning to nurture this growth,” said Ms Hill. “This is more than just a sport—it’s a vibrant, enduring community movement. Our goal is to not only support the existing community but to inspire new players and ensure sustainable growth across every state and territory. Bringing the leaders of our sport together to map out a clear pathway forward was invaluable.”
The conference featured dynamic discussions and focused strategic planning sessions, all aimed at strengthening the sport's foundation, meeting the demands for infrastructure, and enhancing player pathways and partnerships nationwide. As PA looks ahead, the commitment to working closely with State Members, affiliates, partners, and sponsors remains unwavering.
“What sets pickleball apart is its diversity and accessibility,” noted Brendan Lee, PA Executive Officer. “It’s a sport for everyone, regardless of age, background, or ability. That’s the magic of pickleball—it brings people together in a way few sports can.”
“The potential for sponsors and partners is truly limitless,” added Mr. Lee. “Pickleball offers an unmatched platform to connect with diverse audiences, promote active lifestyles, and be part of an exciting growth story that transcends traditional sports boundaries.” In just the first 42 days of 2025, PA has welcomed nearly 2,000 new members, reflecting the sport’s surging popularity nationwide.
