2025 Trilogy Funds Australian Pickleball Championships Wrap Up

As the dust settles on another Australian Pickleball Championships I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every player, volunteer, referee and spectator for participating in this year’s Championships. You have once again created history. 

This year’s Championships hosted at the Pimpama Sports Hub was the sixth edition; with events held previously in 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2024. The event did not take place in 2020 and 2021. 

With over 1,200 players converging on the Gold Coast, the event is solidified as the second largest tournament outside of the US; with only the 2025 English Open attracting a larger participation base. 

We were blessed with terrific weather across the event; but more importantly we were blessed with a terrific group of players. The camaraderie shown and friendships made at the APC are unique and the APC creates memories you will cherish for life. 

Our main goal for this year’s Championships was to go above and beyond in delivering a memorable experience for all and ensuring we leave a lasting legacy on the Gold Coast. At the front of our mind was ensuring that the player experience was second to none, and I would like to thank the entire team who helped achieve this whether staff, volunteer or contractor.

Congratulations also to Deb Khoury who was awarded the Spirit of Pickleball Award for her ongoing contribution to pickleball in NSW and Lachy Donnelly who was crowned the Player of the Tournament. Lachy’s dual Triple Crown is a feat which has never been achieved previously. 

As our attention now turns to reflecting on the event and planning for 2026, we do hope you take the time to provide your feedback by completing the player survey which was emailed out to all participants. 

Much gratitude goes to Kerry Gray, our Event Manager for her tireless work over the past few months in bringing the event to life as well as all the volunteers, contractors, referees, sponsors, partners and staff for your ongoing support of pickleball in Australia.
