Club Spotlight - Pickleballerz Cardiff

We're putting the spotlight on Pickleballerz in Cardiff, one of Pickleball NSW's newest affiliated venues in 2026.

Newcastle's pickleball community has grown quickly, and Pickleballerz was built to keep up with it. Co-founders Dave Sampaklis and Dave Zacharia opened the Hunter region's first dedicated indoor pickleball venue in Cardiff in late 2025, converting the former Parrey Skate Park on Munibung Road into 1,890 square metres of purpose-built court space.

The facility runs eight indoor courts surfaced with CoolTop® – Pickleball Australia's preferred playing surface. Installed by Oz Elite Installations, CoolTop is an acrylic court coating system used at PA-affiliated venues across the country, chosen for its consistent playing characteristics and long-term durability.

The programming is built for the full range of players. The club facilitates regular sessions covering pickleball fundamentals for all skill levels, alongside women's-only nights, kids clinics, and free learn-to-play sessions. Social nights, weekend drop-ins, and competitive tournaments round out the calendar, with memberships available for those after unlimited access to social play, competitive play, and Pickleballerz-sponsored leagues.

The venue also includes a pro shop, lockers, and adaptive programming, keeping it accessible to players of every age and ability.
