PCYC Queensland and Pickleball Australia Join Forces to Deliver Inclusive and Accessible Pickleball Programs Statewide
Queensland, Australia - 25/07/25
PCYC Queensland and Pickleball Australia are proud to announce a new strategic partnership that will expand access to pickleball across the state of Queensland through local PCYC's, centres, and community programs.
With 23 PCYC clubs across Queensland to be affiliated with Pickleball Queensland, this collaboration formalises a shared commitment to providing safe, inclusive, and high-quality participation opportunities for all ages.
As part of the rollout, PCYC staff will undertake pickleball coaching accreditation through Pickleball Australia’s national coaching framework. This investment in PCYC staff training ensures that pickleball programs delivered through PCYC Queensland are supported by qualified coaches who can engage participants in fun, skill-appropriate, progressive pickleball programs.
Pickleball Australia CEO, Brendan Lee, welcomed the partnership and the opportunity it brings to the community.
“I've seen firsthand the positive impact that PCYC Queensland has on local communities across Queensland and I am delighted that Pickleball Australia will be working with PCYC Queensland to grow pickleball whilst ensuring quality, safe programs are delivered to participants .”
PCYC Queensland CEO, Phil Schultz, expressed his excitement for the partnership, highlighting the inclusiveness of the sport.
“We’re incredibly proud to partner with Pickleball Australia to support a sport that brings people together and has proved extremely popular already among our members, and the children at our Fun Squads.
Pickleball is fun and inclusive, welcoming players of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. This partnership reflects our shared commitment to building healthier communities, and I look forward to seeing pickleball roll out at even more PCYCs across the state within our youth programs and as an additional offering for our members. This collaboration is a fantastic opportunity to offer our communities a dynamic, accessible way to get active.”
The partnership includes access to Pickleball Australia’s coach education resources, coaching pathways, and sport-specific support to help PCYC teams confidently run programs in diverse settings, including clubs and and Fun Squad Services (Outside School Hours Fun).
Through this collaboration, both organisations aim to foster lifelong participation in sport, promote social connection, and increase physical activity across communities throughout Queensland.
