National teams announced for the Pickleball World Cup
Pickleball Australia is delighted to announce the inaugural 12 player, Australian teams to contest the 2025 Pickleball World Cup in the USA, from the 31st October – 2nd November 2025.
The Open team will comprise of: Andrew Horridge (WA), Oliver Gray (QLD), Josh Nipperess (QLD), Sarah Burr (QLD), Talia Saunders (SA), Tayah Cross (QLD) with Coach, Mike Newell.
The Senior team will comprise of: Martin Clark (QLD), Tek Tea (NSW), Ivan Stride (NSW), Terrie Robson (ACT), Angela Green (TAS) and Naomi Amakawa (NSW) with Coach, Mike Newell.
Team Australia Coach, Mike Newell declared his excitement, “We’re proud to have assembled a strong and experienced Australian Team for the Pickleball World Cup. This group of athletes has the talent and determination to compete with the strongest teams in the world, and we’re confident they’ll represent Australia with pride and passion”.
Currently, over 60 countries have registered to take part in the event which includes USA, Germany, Serbia, Mexico, France, India, Argentina, Trinidad and Tobago, Bahamas, New Zealand and many more.
The event will take place at “The Fort” which boasts 43 regulation pickleball courts and the world’s first ever dedicated pickleball stadium.

“There is no greater privilege in sport than to represent your country. I am over the moon to be part of this awesome team at the 2025 Pickleball World Cup”, said Martin Clark.
The team will aim to qualify for the elimination playoffs by competing in a round-robin draw against teams from across the world in rally scoring format; which includes doubles and mixed doubles matches. The event will be live streamed and supporters from Australia will be able to cheer on their Aussies from home as they aim to progress Australia to the top of the podium.
